Damp Day On The Diamond

As Milli Vanili put it in one of its late 1980s hits, “Gotta blame it on something, blame it on the rain.”

That was the case for the Mets (pictured in the orange and blue uniforms) and White Sox of the Lihue Baseball League as the squads braved a damp, dark May 12 day. The teams met in a Mustang Division (ages 8 to 10) playoff game with the winner poised to advance to the next round. However, while the final score ended with the teams deadlocked at eight runs apiece, the mighty Mets were declared victors because of the White Sox forfeiture for not following the playing time limit rules set forth by the league.
