Abercrombie’s Confirmation Celebration

Kaua’i celebrated a confirmation ceremony in honor of the inauguration of Gov. Neil Abercrombie and Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz Dec. 15 at Lydgate Park. The confirmation was one of several ceremonies themed E Ho’omalu O Hawai’i, “To Protect Hawai’i,” taking place across the Islands following the official inauguration and swearing in Dec. 6 on Oahu. The festivities included a procession attended by the Royal Court as well as Hawaiian chanting and hula performances. Abercrombie and Schatz addressed those in attendance, thanking them for their support.
