Natasha Corpuz didn’t expect to win a $100 gift certificate last week at Safeway just for correctly answering a simple question posed by a MidWeek Kaua’i representative. The Kapaa resident was busy gathering a few last-minute items for that evening’s dinner.

“I save a lot of money here,” she said of why she prefers shopping at Safeway.

And she has a lot of mouths to feed. Natasha and husband, Derek, a painter, have five children: Kiahni (almost 1), Kaiden (5), Devyn (14), Alexi (15) and Shayne (20).

The Oahu native likes to flip through MidWeek Kaua’i and look at all the photos of people at various events across the island. She also appreciates the Kaua’i calendar of events.

“And, of course, the store ads,” she said.
