WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas … the Player’s Edge!

LET THEM EAT CAKE … Nicole Scherzinger did the celebrity birthday thing in Las Vegas at TAO. The Honolulu-born singer, song-writer, dancer, choreographer, record producer, philanthropist, model, actress and X-Factor judge turned 34 June 29.

JOHN MONTAGU, “The Earl of Sandwich,” was the first dude to put meat between a couple of slices of carbs waaaay back in 1762. It was rumored to be the Earl’s preferred meal while he passed the time wagering. And that makes a direct descendant of his, opening a sandwich shop in Vegas like getting a pair of 10’s in Let it Ride (a nobrainer). Check out the restaurant named after the guy who Captain Cook named us after (The Earl of Sandwich) at the Palms. Lucky for us he wasn’t the Earl of Lindsay, Rosslyn, Kimberly or Stewart.

THE THREE-CARD Poker, Six-Card Super Royal (a six-card Royal in Diamonds) made Kathy Wayda the sixth person in the U.S. to become a millionaire by making a $20 bet on the game. Las Vegas has had two winners, and Atlantic City four. Of course, many others have had the hand but didn’t make the full, four-red-chip bet … auwe!

CAESARS PALACE has done an excellent job of branding the Colosseum as the home of the biggest names in show business. Elton John, Celine Dion, Jerry Seinfeld, Rod Stewart and Shania Twain also will host the “Devine Male Performer” – that’s English for Il Divo. See their Wicked Game tour July 13 and 14.

SEVEN OUT … Bradley Ogden at Caesars Palace.

AT THE Protein Innovation Summit, they introduced a new cut of beef that took two years to develop “The Vegas Strip” … it’s cheaper than a New York steak, and the recommended prep is a quick sear. Steak snobs say not all cuts should be cooked the same way. Medium rare is best for ribeyes, N.Y. strips, Porterhouse, T-bone, tri tip, sirloin, hanger and chuck steaks. Cook your skirt, chuck, short rib and flaps medium.

WHADAYA CALL a four-team college football playoff? Bonus! The Super Bowl of college games will mean hundreds of millions, maybe even billions of dollars in TV rights, merchandise sales and, of course, sports betting.

AS IF the odds weren’t already in its favor … coming soon to the D: Dancing Dealers!

CONGRATS TO Penn & Teller, the resident magicians at the Rio who’ll receive their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
